How My Passion Began
Hello, my name is Martin Gordon, and I am a visual artist specializing in abstract impressionism. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, in a blue-collar environment that instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for creativity. From a young age, I was drawn to art and design, using them as a means of expression and exploration.
My passion for art led me to attend several colleges in pursuit of artistic development, where I honed my skills and explored different styles and techniques. In addition to my formal education, I also served in the United States Navy, an experience that broadened my perspective on the world and deeply influenced my creative process.
Throughout my journey, I have lived in Toronto, Canada; Seattle, Washington; and Atlanta, Georgia, each place leaving a lasting impact on my artistic vision. My travels and diverse life experiences have been my greatest teachers, shaping my approach to art and allowing me to develop a unique style that blends emotion, movement, and color.

Techniques and Inspirations
Emotions Through Painting
My work is heavily influenced by abstract expressionism and impressionism, blending spontaneous brushstrokes with controlled techniques to create depth and texture. I experiment with acrylics, mixed media, and layering techniques to achieve dynamic compositions that evoke emotion and invite interpretation. The use of bold colors, contrasts, and organic forms is essential in my art, as I seek to capture movement and energy in every piece.
